India inked MoU with Sri Lanka to modernize facilities in SVIAS

In January 2019, India and Sri Lanka inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that would provide modern infrastructural facilities to Swami Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetic Studies of Eastern University in Batticaloa district of Sri Lanka. The MoU was inked by High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and  Secretary, Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education of Sri Lanka, M.M.P.K. Mayadunne. Indian government sanctioned a total amount of 275 million Sri Lankan Rupees as support to modernize facilities in the institute.
