Jharkhand is all set to implement 10% quota for EWS of General Category

Jharkhand will soon become the next state after Gujarat to give the 10% reservation benefit in employment and admission to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the unreserved category.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das ordered implementation of this quota from 22nd January 2019. This 10 % reservation will be in addition to 50 % reservation given to ST/SC/BC/OBC as per the released official statement. This shows the government’s eagerness to bring the poor into the mainstream of development.

Thanking the government, BJP spokesman Pratul Shahdeo said Modi became the first prime minister in the history to give reservation to the economically weaker section in the general category and in Jharkhand, the chief minister gave a gift on the occasion of Makar Sankranti with the announcement.
